Independent abortion clinics are community-based reproductive health clinics. The people who staff these clinics are highly trained healthcare professionals who provide essential, time-sensitive abortion services, often to people with the fewest resources, who need them the most. In fact, independent clinics serve 58% of patients in the U.S. each year who have an abortion.

The availability of abortion care throughout pregnancy depends on independent abortion clinics. Across the country, 62% of clinics that provide abortion care after the first trimester are independent.

Alarming Rate of Closures

Independent providers are the most vulnerable to anti-abortion attacks and legislation intended to close clinic doors or push abortion out of reach. Since Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022, 76 independent clinics have been forced to close or stop providing abortion care.

Keep Our Clinics is a fundraising campaign for independent abortion clinics across the USA. Your donation helps independent clinics keep their doors open so they can provide abortion care. Funds are available for: making necessary security improvements, replacing and updating medical equipment, covering legal costs to maintain compliance with politically-motivated regulations, clinic building maintenance and repair, and more.
